1. Who we are

ByteHaus (“ByteHaus,” “we,” “us”) operates the website at bytehaus.co and resells web hosting and domain registration services to customers in the United States and Canada.

Our upstream infrastructure provider, LiquidNet US LLC, delivers the underlying hosting, billing, and payment processing services as the merchant of record for all purchases. Their privacy policy is mirrored here.

2. What we collect and why

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the site and deliver services you request.

When you place an order or sign up:

Name, email address, phone number, and billing address — required to create your hosting account and process billing.
Order details (the plan, domain, and add-ons you select) — required to provision the service.
Payment details — entered directly with and processed by our upstream provider (LiquidNet US LLC). ByteHaus does not see, store, or transmit your card or payment data.

When you browse the site:

Standard server log data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) — used for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the site running. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Anti-abuse signals from our proof-of-work challenge that runs in your browser before API requests. This is purely a math puzzle — it collects no personal information and does not fingerprint your device.

When you contact us:

Whatever information you choose to share in your message (email address, name, content of the message). Used solely to respond to your inquiry.

We use privacy-respecting, self-hosted analytics to understand aggregate site usage (page views, referrers, device types). This analytics system does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across sites. All analytics data stays on our own infrastructure. We do not run any advertising or behavioral tracking.

3. How we use your information

We use the personal information described in Section 2 for the following purposes:

To deliver services — creating your account, provisioning hosting, registering domains, and processing billing through our upstream provider.
To communicate with you — responding to support requests, sending service-related notices (outages, renewals, policy changes).
To protect our services — preventing abuse, detecting fraud, enforcing our terms, and maintaining site security.
To comply with the law — responding to lawful requests from government authorities and meeting tax/accounting obligations.

We do not use your personal information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

4. Who we share your information with

We share personal information only with parties that need it to deliver the services you requested or that we are legally required to disclose to.

LiquidNet US LLC — our upstream infrastructure and billing provider. LiquidNet is the merchant of record and processes all payments directly.
Domain registrars and registries — when you register a domain, your contact information is forwarded to the relevant registrar and registry as required by ICANN. ID Protection (if purchased) replaces your personal contact details in the public WHOIS record.
Cloudflare — provides DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection for bytehaus.co. Cloudflare may temporarily process request metadata (IP addresses, headers).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or de-identify it.

6. Your rights

California residents (CCPA/CPRA) — if you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected from you
Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or charge different prices because you exercised your privacy rights

7. Cookies

bytehaus.co does not use tracking cookies. Strictly necessary cookies may be set during checkout or by our upstream provider for session management.

8. Security

We use HTTPS across all bytehaus.co pages and API endpoints and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

9. Children

ByteHaus services are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Effective” date at the top and post a notice on this page. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
